Interested in becoming a leader? We would love to havE YOU JOIN our team! Find Out How Below.

Cs Camps has over 200 volunteer leaders who serve across our camps in various roles. Cabin leaders, Cooks, Odd Bod's, Camp 'Parents', Worship Leaders, and Camp Organisers are just a few of the roles you'll find on camp. If you are interested in leading on a camp, contact us or the Camp Organiser for the camp you'd like to lead on.

Before being accepted on team, you will need to provide The Camping Program with your Working With Children's Check as well as fill out a 'Safe Leader's' application. The Camping Program is committed to being 'Child Safe', therefore these steps must be completed by all before volunteering on a camp.

WHERE DO I GET A WORKING WITH CHILDREN'S CHECK?
Visit the Working With Children's Check Victoria site for further information.

HOW DO I BECOME A LEADER?
Leaders are selected from the criteria below -
  • Committee decision is always sought when inviting all leaders
  • Leaders demonstrate their commitment to Christ in their daily life and in their local church
  • Leaders from the previous years are asked first if the committee has agreed on their suitability
  • Leaders will be considered from Year 12 and older as a priority and then to Year 11 if unable to find suitable ones from the known leaders available.  Sometimes older teenagers (whose parents are already leaders) will be used to ‘fill gaps’ in an emergency e.g. a leader who pulls out sick.
  • Leaders are considered when they have been recommended by someone from The Camping Program who can vouch for their commitment and integrity
  • Leaders will be considered who are committed in their faith and are interested and suitable to work with the particular age group.
  • All leaders over 18 years will require a Working With Children Check before attending camp
  • Leader applications may receive an answer of Yes, No or Wait. The reason for this will be communicated to you so that you may understand why this decision has been reached.

DOES IT COST FOR LEADERS TO COME ON CAMP?
In short, yes. We greatly appreciate that leaders often give up a week of work, and therefore income, so that they can volunteer on a camp. However, in order to cover camp costs, we require all leaders attending camp to pay $160 each. This goes towards covering your meals and accommodation.
